in a letter the author wrote, in Sept 2001, to Canada’s
Emergency Preparedness officials in Toronto and to Jean
Chretien, our then PM, that Canada should be ready for a
panicked invasion if Americans were affected by chemical,
bio or nuclear accidents or outbreaks These were possible,
especially since the US had not only refused to ratify the
relevant bio conventions, approved by most of the world, but
had embarked on bio-weapons developments thinly
disguised as bio-defence work & which rivaled those of
Russia & Israel. It was also possible, that the USA’s
rampages across the world would elicit another response on
its own soil.
The invasion scenario is set in future &, 6 decades later,
genocides, holocausts, forensic & political anthropologists
are reviewing that invasion & absorption event. They are
acting on behalf of the now politically split international court
of justice, which is investigating the absorption of Canada &
alleged genocides & war crimes, following a legal claim
made by a group of exiled Canadians, after the US

Detroit, MI, inching their way by van from Windsor, to
Scarborough, Ontario, fleeing from a disastrous bio-

"Hard but important work" April 26, 2008
This is not an easy book to read. Like the incredibly popular Da Vinci
Code, this book weaves fact, fiction and speculation. And at first this,
along with the mixing of different fonts, it is a little jarring. But what really
makes the book not so easy to read is the demand it places on you to
not take for granted that power is being exercised by our culture, by our
country and by other entities and forces who would want to make choices
for us.
Once you get over the inclination to stop and search out each movement
of the story in order to validate and explore it, you let the story unfold and
simply let it inspire you to take your place in this world with a little more
seriousness, sobriety and resolve. A tall order, but Ishmael delivers."

"A lovely collection, April 26, 2008
Poetry ought to be offered in collections. Ishmael's collection is a
delightful balance. His love poems are passionate, honest and
vulnerable and his protest poems bring an agreeable contrast as they
are freer in form and thought. Held together, without being hit over the
head, you get the message- protest involves love and indeed, true love is
in need protest at times. The two sections are beautifully bridged by two
"nature" poems- one about a crow and the other about an ant. The poet's
biography tells us that he is from Guyana and you can't help but imagine
you are robbed of lilting melodic accent delivering the poems. I certainly
had a favorite poem: "I would love to grow old... slowly" and there are
some extremely provocative images such as a "vacuumed life" but it is
the whole that holds me in this book. Once you can trust that each poem
will show you something new, you struggle with whether to savor what you
read or bite into the next poem."

STUNNINGLY LOGICAL 4 stars.
"I did not know about the real, existing Pentagon plan to invade Canada,
use nerve gas and massive bombing to integrate it into the USA, until I
read John Ish Ishmael's novel. I had stumbled on his four books when I
was reading a blog.
The US invasion of Canada was triggered by an apocalyptic bio-warfare
event at Ft. Dietrick, MD, with roots in a joint secret program with Nes
Ziona [Israel] that sent 20 million Americans fleeing to Canada for safety
- from FEMA and Homeland Security. I can't reveal the reasons of course.
What is fascinating about John Ishmael's book is his ability to take the
reader on a journey through the workings of the International Criminal
Court as it investigates the US war crimes involved in the US absorption
of Canada, including the mass extermination of all Canadian Muslims.
This book is complex, credible and who knows if we will absorb Canada
by purely political moves or eventually military action as we lust after its
water, gas and oil.
John Ish Ishmael [a Canadian] does have us Americans 'erasing Canada
from the map' as we turn our militaristic culture upon our peaceful
neighbors to the north. They really do not trust us and perhaps they
should not. We Americans know very little about Canada's domestic
politics but for those who do, our refusal to absorb the province of French
speaking Quebec will be a belly laugh about our own post Iraq, anti-
French illness.
A complex subject tamed and well presented through this work of
dynamic political fiction. It was a nice read that left me rooting for the
Canadians. [Hope that Homeland Security doesn't send me to Gitmo]
The missing star is because the author left me hanging about world
retribution for this - as yet - fictional, brutal US invasion of our Canadian
neighbor."

"Polyvalent Loathing - John [ISH]. Ishmael`s The Black Bug: The Genetic
Bomb Has Arrived, is a paranoid farrago. Ishmael establishes his claim
that the book is based on fact by mingling real people with imaginary
characters, science with fantasy, and actual incidents with fiction,
regardless of history and chronology. The story is about a world-wide
conspiracy centred in South Afrika (sic), where the same evil crew that
gave the world AIDS has developed a virus that causes genetic mutation
in Blacks.
Amid sex and violence, a bewildering assortment of other bad guys steal
and mutate this virus so it attacks only whites; finally it [attacks] Afrikaans
babies … [reviewer comment deleted as deliberate plot spoiler]
At the end, nuclear bombs are about to rain down. The anti-white virus
spares only Semites, but, since Arabs (good guys) are also Semites,
this selectivity may not support the Jewish conspiracy theory so dear to
other writers.
Certainly The Black Bug is full of race hatred, but this time the Jews have
to share the vilification. Israel is only the second-worst scoundrel; the
United States is third, and South Afrika (sic) is top demon. Individually
and collectively, Jews take their lumps along with the other objects of
